Event and Crisis Management

The obstetrical setting provides a unique opportunity to manage Ob-Gyn events in a collaborative manner, transcending the settings – labor and delivery, the office practice, neonatology, Ob-Gyn, etc. Event management is a process of appropriately handling an adverse incident. It includes first assuring the safety and care of the patient, but also effective communication with the patient and/or family, investigation and analysis of the event, reviewing quality improvement opportunities and much more.

Some departments or physicians engage us to provide event management advice on a retainer basis, where we provide Ob-Gyn healthcare professionals with 24/7 access to our team of legal and risk consultants to provide support as events occur. Other clients engage us to provide crisis management/event management support for discrete events. In either event, our team is experienced in providing support to the healthcare professionals directly or working collaboratively with a hospital risk manager or safety professional, having provided event and crisis management services for thousands of physicians and hospitals throughout the country.
